 The picture book that I chose to blog about is See Me Run by Paul Meisel because it is an enjoyable book that demonstrates true happiness among some canine dogs. These dogs enjoyed an outing in the park where it was plenty of room to be themselves. This is something that is a major part of every dog happiness. Dogs tend to discover a lot of things when they are running around digging so these brilliant dogs discovered a mother lode of bones. The story basically depicts the true action of dogs loving to run. They run through mud and run into water to get cleaned up. This story was humorous to me when the dogs was digging and found fossil bones which caused the dogs to take off running again. The illustrations in this book is beyond marvelous because children would be able to get a visual on what the dogs may do next.  The book that I chose from realistic fiction is Bad Girls Never Say Die by Jennifer Mathieu because it reminds me of the challenges girls face today in urban neighborhoods. This particular book shared insights on some of the challenges women faced in the 60s in Houston. There were only a few choices for women such as be a good girl and get married or be a bad girl and live your life. A 15 year old girl name Evie is from a working class white family but she became a bad girl when her sister wedding navigated her away from home. Things were complicated for Evie because she had a neighbor name Juanita that took her under her wings but she appeared to be a bad influence. Juanita appeared to be a bad influence because she smokes, drinks, wears intense makeup, and runs with a rough negative crowd. There was loyalty in their relationship but Evie feels uncertain of her place. There was a rich girl name Diane from a wealthy part of town that ended up the killing a attacker that tried to a...
