Blog 2 My Friend Rabbit

The title of my honor book is My Friend Rabbit by Eric Rohmann and he is also the illustrator. The illustrations of this book is interesting because it displays a rabbit and a mouse playing with a toy airplane and it get stuck in a tree. This illustration felt like a reflection of my childhood because I use to play with toy airplanes at Lockhart Elementary School. When I observed the illustrations on this particular book the rabbit appeared to be full of trouble but very smart and spontaneous. The illustrations showed the rabbit randomly coming up with a spontaneous plan to get the airplane out of the tree such as stacking animals on top of one another. The rabbit appeared to be trouble with this plan because it was obvious that the animals was going to fall eventually. The animals was extremely angry with the rabbit when they fell and I noticed the mouse had to immediately come to the rabbit rescue because the other animals was reaching for him out of frustration. The background of the illustrations in this particular book appear to be so misleading and relaxing because it is full of color. The bright colors in this book correlate with the real world colors and it symbolizes anger when the animals are upset about something. I was able to distinguish with my observation that the background turns reddish orange when the animals get mad at the rabbit. The colors that are displays makes their anger more noticeable. The rabbit meant well striving the get the airplane out of the tree but his plan and strategy humiliated all of the other animals. I have a strong perspective that some of the illustrations in this particular book does not display all of the drama that is present in this book.
