Favorite book from childhood

My favorite book from childhood is if you give a mouse a cookie. This particular book was my favorite because throughout the story the boy does a lot of things for the mouse and never expected anything in return. The mouse would consistently ask and want something and the boy would give it and never ask for anything in return. This was a special relationship to me because it closely resembled the relationship between a parent and a child. I have a strong perspective that this book can influence children to discuss the friendships in their own lives and relate it to the similarities it has on the friendship between the mouse and the boy. I personally feel this book impacted me the most in childhood because it reflects on selflessness and it's application to our personal lives on a daily basis. This book taught me empathy as a child because I was consistently concerned about the well-being of others. I didn't read many books in my spare time during childhood because I was more passionate about playing basketball and running around the neighborhood with other children. This is the main reason I can honestly say if I read an entire book it had a lot of meaning in my life. If I give a mouse a cookie was such an interesting book because the mouse would ask for more regardless of what the boy gave but it didn't stop the boy from showing generosity. I feel that my reading experience can make my classroom experience great because it will improve my ability to socialize, empathize, relax, and also solve problems. Children will be able to effectively read books of their choice and apply it to their everyday personal lives.
